Terms of Use — Grow Your Cat

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Grow Your Cat mobile application and all of its content (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

These Terms apply in addition to the terms of the store you installed the app from. If you installed it from the App Store, that is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you installed it from Google Play, that is the Google Play Terms of Service. Where the two cover different matters, both apply; the store's terms provide the general licensing, warranty, and liability terms, and these Terms add the developer's content and artwork terms below.

Licence to use the app

You are granted a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use one copy of the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and with the terms of the store you installed the app from (the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement or the Google Play Terms of Service). No other rights are granted.

Ownership & intellectual property

The app, its source code, design, user interface, name, logo, and all artwork — including the cat artwork and every procedurally generated cat the app produces — are the property of Illia Makhaiev (“the developer”) and are protected by intellectual-property and other laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of the app or its content to you.

Things you may not do

Except to the limited extent the law expressly permits despite this restriction, you agree that you will not:

• copy, extract, rip, scrape, or otherwise capture the app's artwork or assets (including the cat artwork and any cat image generated, displayed, or exported by the app) from the app or its files;
• use any such artwork or assets for any commercial purpose — for example in another app, product, service, merchandise, logo, or advertising;
• reproduce, distribute, publicly display, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from the app or its artwork, except for sharing an exported image for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment;
• use the “Grow Your Cat” name, logo, or cat as a brand or source identifier for any other product or service, or in any way likely to cause confusion;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

Your cats

The cats you grow are saved on your device (and, if iCloud is enabled, in your own private iCloud account) for your personal use. You're welcome to screenshot and share your cats with friends for fun. That permission is personal and non-commercial — it does not grant any of the rights withheld above.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the app.

Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
